SUPERLATIVE - Üstünlük

 

*En üstünlük derecesidir.Örneğin; alışveriş merkezine gittik ve kendimiz için bir şeyler bakıyoruz.Satıcıların ağzından mutlaka bu en iyi maldır, hepsinin içinde en güzeli budur gibi sözler duyarız.İşte biz superlative yapısını bunlar için kullanırız.Bu yapının da bazı kuralları vardır.

 

1)Eğer sıfatımız tek heceliyse yani ağzımızdan tek defada çıkıyorsa sıfatın önüne “the” ekleriz ve sıfata “est” takısı getiririz.

 

-old (eski)         the oldest (en eski)

-cheap (ucuz)     the cheapest (en ucuz)

-tall (uzun)                the tallest (en uzun)

 

-I am the tallest girl in my class.(Sınıfımda en uzun kızım.)

-It is the oldest car in the garage.( Garajdaki en eski arabadır.)

-They are the cheapest.(Onlar en ucuzdur.)

 

*Eğer “y” ile bitiyorsa “y” düşer “iest” gelir.

 

-heavy (ağır)              the heaviest (en ağır)

-pretty (sevimli) the prettiest (en sevimli)

 

*Bazı sıfatların son harfi tekrarlanır ve “est” gelir.

 

-hot (sıcak)        the hottest (daha sıcak)

-big(büyük)        the biggest (daha büyük)

 

*Bazı sıfatlarda istisnalar bulunmaktadır.

 

-good (iyi)         the best (en iyi)

-bad (kötü)                the worst (en kötü)

-much(çok)        the most (en çok)

-many (çok)               the most (en çok)

-little (az)         the least (en az)

 

-I am the best. (En iyisi benim.)

 

2)Eğer sıfatımız birden fazla heceliyse sıfatın önüne the most gelir.

 

-modern (modern)              the most modern (en modern)

-interesting (ilginç)             the most interesting (en ilginç)

-expensive (pahalı)             the most expensive (en pahalı)

-beautiful (güzel)               the most beautiful (en güzel)

 

-She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. (Gördüğüm en güzel kızdı.)

-It is the most interesting film I have ever watched. (İzlediğim en ilginç filmdi.)
